Member of the European Parliament, Latvia
Artis Pabriks is an elected member of the European Parliament since 2014 and a member of the Committee on International Trade responsible for the EU‘s common commercial policy and its external economic relations. He is the EP's chief reporter on the EU-Canada Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement. Previously, served as the Minister of Defense and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia.
World Bank Senior Economist in China
Kārlis Šmits has worked at the World Bank since 2006 focusing on economic growth, structural reforms and fiscal policy. Since 2013, his main responsibilities include analyzing China's economic developments and undertaking policy dialogue with the Government of China. He is the lead author of China Economic Update, a regular World Bank publication on key economic developments in China.
Advisor to the President of Latvia
Andris Piebalgs is an experienced Latvian politician who occupied key positions in both national and European political fields. Before becoming adviser to the President of Latvia, Piebalgs served as the European Commissioner for Energy (2004-2010) and the Commissioner for Development (2010-2014). Before joining the Commission, Andris Piebalgs pursued a political career, occupying strategic ministerial portfolios. He was also a high-ranking diplomat, helping Latvia to play its role in the EU.

Normunds Staņēvičs is the Chairman of the Board of the leading dairy producer and the biggest food producer in Latvia – Rīgas piena kombināts JSC (Food Union Group). Prior to joining Rīgas piena kombināts, in 2013, Normunds Staņēvičs managed the change process in the publishing house Diena JSC as Chairman of the Board, worked as Financial Director at oil transshipment company Ventspils Nafta JSC, and 6 years in Corporate Finance at Deloitte.
